A South Marston graphic design firm won the Technical Team of the Year award at a prestigious ceremony.

GEL Studios staff celebrated at the Business Exchange Swindon & Wiltshire 2019 Techie Awards after the public at Harham Park in Corsham voted overnight to receive the award.

The shortlisted finalists for each Techies award submitted a short video to show why they deserved to win. GEL Studios received 80 percent of the votes for the award won by COMAPNY.

Managing Director Graeme Leighfield said: “Just being seen alongside great local businesses meant a lot to us, so when GEL Studios was announced as the winner we were really blown away.

“It was great to see so many passionate, like-minded companies at one event. Honestly, we can’t thank people enough for their votes. By working with each other every day, we know how to how passionate and creative we are, each and every one of us truly loves what we do and we pride ourselves on trying to be different from other creative agencies.

“We get a lot of good feedback from customers on the fun and positive experience they have with the GEL team and we are working hard to maintain that. So, for other people to not only recognize it, but reward us for that, well, we’re not quite sure there are enough words to express how much this means to us. To put it very simply – thank you all for your continued support and love. ”

GEL Studios is a family-owned creative agency that offers bespoke website designs, expert advice and support to its clients.

Burglars broke into its offices at Groundwell Industrial Estate in September last year and stole iMacs worth £ 15,000. In the video that helped the company win its Techie Award, Mr Leighfield described how they bounced back from this incident.

He said: “We had an amazing journey together as a team and part of it involved some adversity. If we weren’t doing the processes that we used that day I very much doubt we would be. here. We wanted to build something reliable and durable to make sure that in any eventuality everything would be fine. Technology was a fundamental part of that – we were able to recover in a few hours and we did it together, everyone participated. ”
